JC Metalsmith Shop Policies

Welcome to James Christian Metalsmith Jewelry!  We want you to have a wonderful shopping experience here, so please read our policies below before placing your order and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Payment - Payment methods include credit/debit card, Paypal, or money order.  Washington state sales tax  will be applied to all purchases using a Washington address.

Shipping- SHIPPING METHODS

Our shipping methods include USPS, UPS and FedEx, depending on the cost, services available and reliability, we will choose between these options when shipping your package.

LOSS OF OR DAMAGE TO PACKAGES

JCMetalsmith Jewelry cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged by the post office or other mail service while in transit to you. We package our orders well, and trust the shipping services available to do the rest.  If there is ever a problem with receiving a package, contact us as soon as you can and we'll help get it sorted out.  In the rare cases that a package was "lost", they have been recovered when handled in a timely manner.

Refunds and Exchanges

It is important to us that you understand the custom nature of what we do so that you can have a satisfying shopping experience. Ordering from JCMetalsmithJewelry is not like shopping at a local jeweler or from a catalog, where a large stock is already available. When you place an order, we custom purchase materials especially for your jewelry. And then the piece you've ordered is crafted by hand just for you. The value of our irreplaceable time and cost of materials is reflected in our policies.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
Each item is custom made for each order.  If for any reason you decide to return your purchase, please do so within 5 days of  receiving your item and following the below guidelines: * Contact us direct for a return authorization number (any return without a return authorization will not be refunded)
* Item must be returned in the same condition as it was received (no scratches, dents, etc.) with original packaging
* There will be a 30% restocking fee for returning the custom item. If you wish to exchange your item we can offer you store credit if the full amount of purchase price (less shipping and customs fees). Refunds can take up to 30 days to process.

CUSTOM ORDERS: Please understand that JC Metalsmith is the artist and he has full authority over the design you submit for a custom order request. By placing your payment you agree that JC Metalsmith has "Creative Freedom" which means he has free reign to create the design that he sees fit for both comfort and functionality. James will create your piece of jewelry as closely as he can to your request or submitted photo, however due to artistic techniques and tools a guarantee can not be made for an exact replica. There is no refund for any custom orders.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CHANGE SOMETHING?

If you would like something changed on a piece that you ordered, please contact us to discuss the change you would like to make. We will go over your options and pricing.

WHAT IF MY RING DOESN'T FIT?

It is not uncommon, when having a ring made, that resizing may be required to get a true fit.  The cost of resizing can vary depending on the size, material, and amount of adjustment.  Simply contact us to discuss the sizing and we'll go from there.

REFINISHING

Most of our items are created to have a rustic/worn look.  Please be careful of having your ring refinished or cleaned by another jeweler.  THEY WILL USUALLY POLISH THE RING AND REMOVE THE RUSTIC LOOK OF THE RING. The finish of the ring is just that...  a finish.  It will wear and change as it is worn.  This usually adds to the rustic look but be aware that oxidized and darker finishes will wear off.  We can certainly refinish your ring for you but please contact us direct for quotes on the finish types and time-frames. 

WARRANTY/ GUARANTEE

We take pride in our craftsmanship and each of our items are handmade with love.  The durability, look, and life of the item will depend on how the item is treated, cared for, and what it is exposed to.  We cannot warranty what happens to the ring once it leaves our shop... we can only warrant the craftsmanship.

Items usually appear larger in the photos to show details. Please check the listing dimensions carefully and contact us with any questions.  Due to lighting conditions and monitor settings, colors may appear slightly different, than they are. If you have any questions or need clarification regarding the item, please contact us direct before ordering. We are happy to send you more information or additional pictures. Items are described to the best of our knowledge.  Tiny imperfections are the nature of handmade work. Our pieces are never exactly alike so each piece is unique and special!

ABOUT LAB-GROWN AND SIMULATED STONES
We work primarily with natural, genuine, high quality stones.  For some items we offer lab-grown and simulated stones.  Simulated gemstones are manufactured to give the effect of the actual stone, without the higher cost of purchasing a rare gem. Lab-grown stones are grown from the natural gemstone material in a lab and have the same natural qualities as the gemstone.  Both of these tend to have better clarity and fewer flaws than natural stones. If you prefer to go all natural and get your stone straight from the ground, we can usually supply what you request. We are happy to look into your stone request. Cost varies
